Long-term intake of Zolpidem, especially at a dose of 0.5 g (500 mg), which is much higher than recommended, carries a serious risk of physical and psychological dependence and the development of tolerance, which means that the drug becomes less effective and an increase in dose is necessary. Taking this high dose for more than a year can lead to withdrawal symptoms after stopping use, such as anxiety, agitation, headaches, dizziness, irritability, and a relapse of insomnia (rebound syndrome).

In addition, there is a risk of serious side effects, including impaired consciousness, liver damage, balance disorders, as well as an increased risk of injury, epilepsy, and even an increased risk of certain cancers and neurological diseases such as Parkinson's.

Abrupt withdrawal after prolonged use can be dangerous and should be done under medical supervision. It is recommended that you only use Zolpidem for a short period of time (usually up to 4 weeks) as directed by your doctor to avoid these complications.
