What is the highest acceptable dose of Metex? I take it for RA, but I don't always write it down, I wonder what would happen if I mixed up the dosage and mistakenly took another dose in two days, i.e. for the second time a week. What is the lethal dose?

"For the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and Crohn's disease, Metex (methotrexate) should only be used once a week. Dosage errors during the use of Metex (methotrexate) may result in serious adverse reactions, including death."
Metex should be used ONLY ONCE A WEEK (always on the same day of the week). It is a drug with a narrow therapeutic index, which means that the difference between the therapeutic dose and the toxic dose is very small. Such a drug must be taken strictly according to the doctor's instructions, as a potential overdose can be life-threatening for the patient. The literature describes the death of patients who, as a result of a mistake, took the drug several days in a row.
"The most serious adverse reactions of methotrexate include: bone marrow suppression, pulmonary, hepatic, renal toxicity, neurotoxicity, thromboembolic events, anaphylactic shock, and Stevens-Johnson syndrome."
