Treatment with Amotaxis syrup, which contains amoxicillin, usually lasts between 5 and 7 days, although the exact duration depends on the type and severity of the infection and your doctor's recommendations. Dosage and duration of therapy should be adjusted individually, especially in children, where the dose is calculated per kilogram of body weight, and in patients with renal impairment, where the dose and duration of treatment are modified according to the degree of renal impairment. Do not stop treatment prematurely, even if symptoms have subsided, to prevent the infection from returning and bacterial resistance developing.
