After a 10-day treatment with Pylera, I feel a burning sensation in my esophagus, a yellow tongue and frequent stools – what should I do?

I have finished a 10-day treatment with Pylera. Unfortunately, my entire esophagus burns. No matter what I eat, smoking returns. I don't know what to do. In the evening before bed, I take omnibiotic 10 probiotic. My tongue is all yellow and I have frequent stools.

Your current complaints may be related to the side effects of Pylera, but if the burning sensation of the esophagus and other symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor immediately.

Burning of the esophagus, changes in the colour of the tongue and frequent stools can be side effects after treatment with Pylera, which often causes gastrointestinal discomfort such as diarrhoea, nausea, changes in the consistency and colour of the stool and dry mouth. A yellow tongue may indicate bacterial flora disorders or excessive development of yeast, which happens after antibiotic therapy.

It is worth continuing to take a probiotic, which can help restore normal intestinal microflora, but if the burning sensation in the esophagus is strong and does not go away, you should consult your attending physician. You may need to use protective medication or agents to soothe irritation of the esophagus. If symptoms persist or worsen, a medical check-up is necessary to rule out complications or the need for further treatment.

Additionally, a yellow coating on the tongue and frequent stools may require an assessment of the condition of the mouth and digestive tract, especially if they are accompanied by other symptoms. In the meantime, it is recommended to avoid irritating foods and drinks, drink plenty of water and practice good oral hygiene.
