Is the contraceptive effectiveness of the pill maintained if it has been left outside the blister for several hours?

I use Desogestrel Rowex tablets. Today I accidentally opened a pill that I am supposed to take tomorrow. I didn't glue it together, I just left it loose in a box. Can its effectiveness deteriorate?

If the pill has been left in the air for several hours, there is no need to worry, its effectiveness is maintained. At night, it is worth protecting it, e.g. with foil or putting it in a blister.

It would be best to wrap the tablet e.g. in aluminum foil or put it in a blister (without covering it – so as to protect it from sunlight and moisture, then its effectiveness will be maintained.

If the tablet shows signs of damage or has changed colour, it should be discarded and the tablet should be taken from a spare blister tomorrow. If you do not have an extra blister, you can take the last tablet from this pack tomorrow and simply start the new pack 1 day earlier. Protection will be maintained.
