It is not recommended to immediately replace Mysimba with Mounjaro without consulting a doctor.

When switching weight loss medications such as Mysimba and Mounjaro, a wash out period is usually necessary to allow the previous medication to completely excrete itself from the body and reduce the risk of side effects or interactions.

For Mysimba, it is recommended that you wait a few weeks before starting a new treatment, although the exact time should be determined by your doctor. Before changing the therapy, you should also assess whether you meet the criteria for using Mounjaro and exclude contraindications. Consult your doctor who will determine the safe transition between medications and select the appropriate starting dose of Mounjaro.
