Low levels of ferritin and iron may be an indication for the use of stronger prescription preparations (e.g. Feroplex), and as a last resort - for treatment in the form of intravenous infusions. I encourage you to take advantage of your doctor's advice. Treatment of anemia is a long-term process that requires supervision and systematic control of blood parameters. An important stage is to diagnose the cause of deficiencies.
Recommended over-the-counter iron preparations are, for example, Solgar gentle iron, Actiferol. These products are gentle on the digestive tract and well absorbed. Iron preparations can interfere with the absorption of some drugs, in addition, they are difficult to absorb in the company of, for example, calcium and zinc. Read the package leaflet before starting treatment.
