Bleeding with Ryeqo is a relatively common and usually transient side effect that usually resolves within the first few weeks of therapy. In the event of persistent or severe bleeding, medical consultation is necessary.
Ryeqo can cause uterine bleeding because it affects the hormonal balance, which can lead to irregular or prolonged bleeding as a side effect of using this medication. Typically, Ryeqo treatment results in a significant reduction or even stop of menstruation during the first 30 days of treatment, however, some women may experience periods of irregular or excessive bleeding, especially at the beginning of treatment.
Bleeding associated with Ryeqo usually subsides within a few weeks to two months as the body adjusts to the drug. If the bleeding is very heavy or lasts longer, you should consult your doctor as this may require a change in treatment or additional diagnosis.
I encourage you to report the symptoms you experience to your doctor, as well as to report the occurrence of an adverse effect of the preparation. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article:
