How long does it take for Duracef antibiotic to work in a child with fever and sore throat?

Hello, on Thursday my daughter was given the antibiotic duracef 500 in suspension, she takes it 2 times a day. Today is Saturday and there is no improvement at all, my daughter still has a fever and still has a sore throat. How long does it take for this antibiotic to start working? Best regards

The antibiotic Duracef (cefadroxil) usually starts working within 48-72 hours of starting treatment, however, it may take longer for full improvement, especially with throat infections caused by beta-hemolytic streptococcus.

Treatment should be continued for at least 10 days, even if symptoms disappear earlier, to completely eliminate the infection and prevent complications. If you do not see any improvement after 3 days of using the medication and fever and sore throat persist, it is worth consulting a doctor, as you may need to change your treatment or perform additional diagnostics.
