Why did I have to stop taking Forxiga because of intimate infections and cystitis?

Forxiga (dapagliflozin) can cause side effects such as vaginal infections (e.g. fungal) and urinary tract infections, including cystitis, because the drug increases the excretion of glucose in the urine, which promotes the development of bacterial and fungal infections in the intimate area. If you have experienced such symptoms and had to stop taking the drug, it is good that you have stopped the therapy and you should immediately consult a doctor who will assess your health condition and decide on further treatment.

In the case of vaginal infections, topical antifungal preparations may be used, and in the case of cystitis, antibiotic treatment may be necessary, such as furagin, which is often used in such infections. It is also important to maintain proper intimate hygiene and avoid factors that promote infections. It is worth increasing the hygiene of intimate areas by using gentle washing gels, e.g.
