Hello, treatment for generalized anxiety. The doctor prescribed me paroxetine 20 mg, I am now taking a tablet on the 10th day and I am now on 3/4 of the tablet, every 4 days I have to increase the dose. On top of that, the doctor prescribed me lorafen 2.5 mg because I have terrible fears and I have to function with two children. The doctor said that the fear would only start to work after two or three weeks. And today I feel terrible, even lorafen doesn't help. Is it normal that I have such intense anxiety because of this drug?

Paroxetine usually reaches its therapeutic effect two weeks after starting treatment, sometimes it may take longer.
Paroxetine belongs to the group of SSRIs, the effects of treatment with this group of drugs are usually observed after a few weeks, also at the beginning of treatment the side effects of this group of drugs are most noticeable. Because of this, you may feel worse and no therapeutic effects now.
With the length of therapy, the side effects should pass, if this does not happen, you should see a doctor.
