Yes, Stilnox (zolpidem) can cause addiction, especially with long-term use or exceeding the recommended dose. Stilnox can lead to the development of abuse and psychological or physical dependence.
Cases of dependence were reported more frequently when Stilnox was used for more than 4 weeks. The risk of abuse and the development of addiction is also higher in patients with mental disorders and/or abusing alcohol, psychotropic substances or drugs. This can lead to tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, and psychological dependence. It is recommended to use it short-term and under close medical supervision.
