If you received a prescription for analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) after the procedure, your doctor may also have recommended the use of preparations that protect the stomach, such as Mesopral, to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal pain during the treatment.

Long-term use of NSAIDs may pose a risk of stomach irritation, inflammation and erosions, especially in predisposed patients (e.g. suffering from reflux and heartburn currently or in the past). It is worth remembering that painkillers should be taken with or just after a meal.
