If the test is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., the first dose of CitraFleet should usually be taken around 7:00 a.m. and the second dose around 12:00–1:00 p.m. (i.e. 4–5 hours before the test), as recommended by the manufacturer.
Remember to follow a liquid diet (clear liquids) throughout the day and drink plenty of water after taking the medication to avoid dehydration and ensure effective bowel cleansing.
If you have any doubts about the dosage, it is best to consult your doctor or read the leaflet carefully – there are often examples of hours for afternoon tests.
