Palexia can cause side effects when combined with antidepressants. The most serious interactions are observed in the case of concomitant use of opioid drugs and benzodiazepines (excessive sleepiness, coma, respiratory depression). Concomitant use of Palexia and SSRI antidepressants (e.g. sertraline, citalopram) or SRNI (e.g. venlafaxine) may cause seizures and increase the antidepressant effect of these drugs.
Repeated administration of opioid preparations (e.g. Palexia) can cause tolerance, physical and psychological dependence and opioid use disorder (OUD).
Opioid abuse or deliberate misuse can result in overdose and/or death. The risk of abuse is higher in patients prone to addiction and those burdened with mental illnesses (e.g. severe depressive episodes).
