Shostakovsky's balm should not be used in children. It is a preparation used in the treatment of skin ailments such as frostbite, ulcers or wounds at risk of infection. Dry skin on the hands can be lubricated and moisturized using emollient preparations. It is worth using mild cleansing agents that will not damage the epidermal barrier.
