I took olanzapine for 1.5 years. Cholesterol rose. Can it go down on its own? Or do I need to take statins? And if it decreases against the background of statins, then is it necessary to continue taking statins?

A common side effect of olanzapine, occurring in ≥1/100 to <1/10 of patients, is increased cholesterol. If the drug is the cause of the increased results and it is still used in therapy, the results are unlikely to change. You should visit your doctor and present him with the test results. On their basis, taking into account the other test results and the course of the disease, the doctor will be able to recommend the appropriate procedure and may, for example, recommend the use of statins to normalize the results. Statins are prescription drugs, so you will need to follow your doctor's instructions closely. In order to maintain the results in the normal range, long-term treatment will probably be necessary, after discontinuation of statins, the results may increase again.
If you are no longer using olanzapine, there is a chance that your cholesterol levels will return to normal after a while. However, it is worth going to a doctor who will implement the appropriate therapy in the meantime and recommend periodic tests.
If necessary, I encourage you to consult a doctor, you can do it e.g. here (in Polish):
