Can Egzysta and Sirdalud worsen the condition of the intestines and thyroid?
12.99 zł

Hello, I was given Egzysta and Sirdalud medication for chronic discopathy. Unfortunately, I also have enteritis, suspected IBD, I have alternating constipation with diarrhea and abdominal pain (to be checked in a colonoscopy). Won't these drugs affect and worsen the condition of the intestines? I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, won't they also affect the thyroid so that it doesn't turn into hypothyroidism?

Severity of ailments such as diarrhoea/constipation, abdominal pain, etc. It may indicate an exacerbation of intestinal inflammation, but it is usually temporary. If you observe the above problems, you should consult your doctor about continuing the treatment. Most patients see an improvement in their gut condition after the irritating factor is removed.

I understand, thank you very much for your answer, but if you experience such ailments as diarrhea or constipation, etc., won't it worsen the inflammation of the intestines or lead to something worse for it to happen, to appear? I'm supposed to take them for over a month, hence my concerns whether if there is inflammation there, whether it will turn into something bad because of these drugs

Most medications can cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, but this does not mean that every patient will experience such ailments. Abdominal pain, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation are the most frequently mentioned side effects of all medicines in general - this information is included in all leaflets and descriptions of medicinal products. Patients prone to digestive problems may experience this type of ailment slightly more often than the rest of the population.

These drugs do not affect the functioning of the thyroid gland. It is worth noting the frequent occurrence of inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. celiac disease, microscopic colitis) in combination with Hashimoto's. I encourage you to perform an in-depth diagnosis, especially if the symptoms of the intestines persist for a long time.
