Helicobacter pylori - gastric and duodenal ulcers
Is 5 hours a sufficient interval between doses of metronidazole (250mg)? I have to take it with meals, so I am not able to keep equal 8-hour intervals.
For 2 days I took: 10:00, 15:00, 20:00. Will this not negatively affect the effectiveness of the drug?
Will coffee 15 minutes apart interfere with the absorption of the drug?

Perhaps a small, easily digestible snack will suffice?
If this is not possible, the last dose of the drug can be used at dinner and the body's reaction can be observed.
The doctor recommended taking metronidazole with a meal so as not to damage the stomach, which is already in poor condition. I can't eat in the evening because of reflux. How to reconcile this?

The half-life of the drug is 8-10 hours, a 5-hour break will not be sufficient, and Metronidazole should not be dosed in such a way.
Taking doses at 5-hour intervals may lead to an accumulation of doses and increase the risk of side effects. Therefore, this dosage should be avoided.
Metronidazole can be taken with or without food.
e.g. 7-15-23 (+/- 1 hour)
