Do I have reason to be concerned that the Evra patch did not work and I am pregnant?
12.99 zł

Hi, I've been using Evra contraceptive patches for a short time, recently I noticed slight traces of blood mixed with secretion along with the discharge. Three days ago there was intercourse with ejaculation inside and today the discharge has become very chewy, transparent and traces of blood are still noticeable. I'm only on the second Evra contraceptive patch. Do I have reason to worry that the patch did not work and I am pregnant? I also attach a photo of the discharge from a few days ago.

According to your description, there is no reason to worry, and the probability of pregnancy is negligible.

If you have used the Evra patches correctly (change every 7 days, the patch has not peeled off for more than 24 hours), their effectiveness is very high - about 99%. In the first weeks of using hormonal contraception, spotting (observed blood in the mucus) is quite common, because the body is just getting used to hormones. In addition, hormonal contraception can affect the abundance, density and viscosity of mucus.

If you still have doubts, you can take a pregnancy test (preferably about 10 days after intercourse), e.g.:
