No, Agrosulfan (sulfanilamide antibacterial preparation) is not a standard treatment for erysipelas.
This infection requires systemic antibiotic therapy, usually penicillin. In order to reduce the symptoms of the disease, analgesics and antipyretics are used: paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. In the supportive local treatment, cooling compresses (e.g. from sterile 0.9% NaCl solution) can be used, no compression dressings can be used, and in the case of erysipelas on the limb – limb elevation to reduce swelling. Sometimes your doctor may recommend diuretics to reduce swelling and medications to improve circulation. After erysipelas treatment, anticoagulants are sometimes administered prophylactically.
