Indications for the use of Tobrex ointment:
"Treatment of external ocular infections and appendages in adults and children 1 year of age and above caused by tobramycin-sensitive bacteria."
Your doctor may recommend the use of antibiotic ointments to treat styes, although sometimes home remedies such as warm compresses and massage of the affected area are sufficient to unblock the closed glands. If there is inflammation in the entire eye, additional treatment (eye drops) may be necessary. The decision on the type of treatment should be made by a doctor. Tobrex and other eye preparations containing antibiotics are available only on prescription.
