The summary of product characteristics does not indicate a risk of interactions between these medicinal products. Methotrexate is a drug with a narrow therapeutic index, therefore all other drugs should be introduced with caution, using the lowest doses in the initial period of treatment.
Trexan dosage information:
"The dosage and duration of therapy depend on the severity of the disease and the patient's tolerance to methotrexate (MTX).
The weekly dose is usually between 10 and 25 mg of methotrexate given orally. The dosage should depend on the results of therapy and the occurrence of adverse drug effects. Treatment usually starts with a dose of 2.5–5 mg/week. This dose may be increased to 7.5–25 mg/week. A weekly dose of methotrexate can be administered once, on an empty stomach, immediately before a meal."
