I got a prescription for Transtec 35MCG patches. An hour ago I took Skudexa, which I have to stop and switch to Transtec patches. Can I apply the patch now, which is an hour after taking the Skudex tablet, or wait until the Skudex tablet wears off?

Skudexa (dexketoprofem + tramadol) and Transtec (buprenorphine) are analgesics with different mechanisms of action. The simultaneous use of both preparations may lead to an increase in side effects on the central nervous system, e.g. drowsiness, dizziness, concentration disorders.
The Summary of Product Characteristics of Skudexa also indicates a possible interaction with the concomitant use of tramadol and buprenorphine in reducing the analgesic effect.
Skudexa and Transtec are prescription medications, and you should follow the dosage instructions given by your doctor when using them. The doctor may have either ordered the introduction of Transtec patches during the last doses of Skudexa or after the last doses of Skudexa have been completely discontinued. In practice, both methods of dosage can be found. If you are unsure how to start treatment with Transtec, contact your prescriber again.
