Such a combination is not recommended – unless recommended by a doctor (in which case you should follow the specialist's recommendations strictly and observe the body's reaction).
Combining Seronil with Zolmitriptan increases the risk of serotonin syndrome symptoms.
Serotonin syndrome is a rare but serious side effect associated with elevated serotonin levels in the brain.
Serotonin syndrome manifests itself, m.in, confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, ataxia, hyperreflexia, muscle clonic seizures, and diarrhea. This condition is distinguished by the so-called triad of symptoms, which includes:
Vegetative disorders, i.e. increased blood pressure, fever, diarrhea, vomiting and pupil dilation.
Psychiatric symptoms, consisting of anxiety disorders, feelings of anxiety and confusion.
Neuromuscular ailments, i.e. recurrent cramps, pain and increased muscle tone.
Therefore, if you decide to use a triptan drug on an ad hoc basis, you should observe your body, and if the above-mentioned symptoms appear, urgently consult a doctor.
Side effects observed should be reported to the doctor, who will decide on further treatment.
