If I have been taking escipram on a daily basis for a year, can I stop taking it for a day to drink some alcohol on New Year's Eve?

When used long-term, Escipram remains in the body for a relatively long time, about a week after discontinuation. Therefore, skipping a single dose does not significantly reduce the risk of side effects associated with concomitant alcohol consumption.
Although alcohol consumption while taking Escipram is not recommended, occasional consumption of a small amount, such as a glass of wine, usually does not lead to serious complications, provided that there are no additional risk factors such as cirrhosis, diabetes, cardiac problems or sleep disorders. However, it should be remembered that alcohol can exacerbate some side effects of the drug, such as drowsiness, dizziness, impaired concentration and impaired motor coordination. In addition, alcohol consumption can impair the effectiveness of therapy, causing mood deterioration, increased anxiety or recurrence of symptoms, as well as putting additional strain on the liver.
In conclusion, there is no point in skipping a dose of Escipram, as it will not reduce the risk of side effects from alcohol consumption, and it may have negative effects on the treatment. Although not recommended, you may occasionally consume a small amount of alcohol during treatment.
