When can I start using manuka honey on smallpox scars? When there are still scabs or only when they fall off?

Manuka honey in the form of an ointment (e.g. Activon tube) is used to treat hard-to-heal, severe, prone to infection or already infected wounds. The preparation provides a moist environment that promotes wound healing and has an antiseptic effect. It can be applied to scabs (a change in their appearance is to be expected) and fresh lesions formed in the course of smallpox. Other scars should be treated with preparations dedicated to the treatment of scars, which reduce their size and have a brightening effect, e.g. Sutricon, Silaurum, Contractubex. The basis for the effectiveness of the treatment is regularity. Deep and extensive lesions may require appropriate treatments in a dermatologist's office.
