These drugs are antibiotics - both preparations can be used to treat bacterial sinusitis. The decision to use a particular product is made by a doctor. A change in the color of the nasal discharge does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection. Yellow rhinitis is very often accompanied by a viral infection, which is not treated with antibiotics (they do not work on viruses). Only a few percent of all cases are bacterially superinfected infections. The discharge is then purulent, greenish and accompanied by an unpleasant smell. In such a situation, the doctor may prescribe an antibiotic.
