Good morning!
I've had diarrhea for 4 days now. I went to the doctor and he recommended thiorphane, electrolytes and enterol. Yesterday I started treatment with thiorfan. I had a crp morphology and liver tests. The above tests came out fine, but diarrhea still bothers me. The doctor recommended thiorfan 2x a day. I start to get a little nervous and afraid of where this diarrhea comes from. I don't have a temperature. Does it take so long for thiorfan to work? Should I go to the hospital in this situation?

The racecadotril contained in Tiorfan is indicated for the treatment of acute diarrhoea - alone or as an adjunctive therapy. The preparation is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, and its strongest effect is observed about 2 hours after administration and lasts for about 8 hours. Its mechanism of action is based on the reduction of excessive water secretion in the small intestine.
Therapy with the drug should not last longer than 7 days.
If diarrhoea persists and is severe despite treatment, or if it is accompanied by other symptoms, such as vomiting or excessive weakness and fatigue, it may be necessary to consult a doctor again.
In the course of the disease, remember to hydrate properly.
