Chafing, accompanied by pressure and limited air access, can transform into a bedsore wound if there is no movement. The affected area should be washed regularly (with soap and water, remembering to rinse the injured area thoroughly). In bedridden patients, special washing foams or washcloths designed for leave-in care, e.g. by Seni, can be used (the wound should then be rinsed with saline in ampoules). The wound itself may need to be cleaned - the accumulation of exudate and dead skin elements will hinder the healing of the skin. If swelling and redness of the adjacent skin are observed, it is worth seeking advice from a specialist in wound care (nurse, surgeon), as it may be necessary to prepare the tissues specially. To disinfect wounds, use preparations that will not additionally irritate the affected tissues, e.g. Microdacyn Wound or Granudacyn. Depending on the condition and extent of the wound, specialized dressings can be used - in this case, it is also worth seeking advice from a specialist in the field of wound treatment (I cannot suggest a specific product in this case, because I do not know what the affected area looks like). Until the consultation, you can use Sutriheal forte or Activon Tube ointment designed to treat difficult wounds.
