The doctor prescribed me Arilin for recurrent infections. I took my first dose last night, but I feel heavy after it, I feel a little dizzy and I feel pain in my lower abdomen, or more of a feeling of warmth. Should I continue treatment and take my second dose today?

The active substance in Arilin rapid is metronidazole. After vaginal administration, only 20% of metronidazole passes into the blood. Therefore, side effects rarely occur during treatment with Arilin rapid.
Side effects such as headache, dizziness and abdominal pain have been reported with oral use of metronidazole.
Arilin is a medicine that can only be obtained with a prescription. If, in your opinion, the side effects prevent normal functioning and pose a threat to health, you should discuss further use of the preparation with your doctor.
The Arilin documentation informs about the symptoms that are an indication to stop the treatment with the drug and to contact a doctor. These are:
- sudden drop in blood pressure, shortness of breath, dizziness and vomiting, impaired consciousness, cold sweats and pale and cold hands and feet,
- severe, long-lasting diarrhoea, occurring during and during the first few weeks after the end of treatment,
- fever, exhaustion, tonsillitis and stomatitis,
- feeling numbness, sensory disturbances and tingling in the limbs.
If stationary contact with a doctor is difficult, it is possible to use teleconsultations through Gdziepolek:
