Can you use Azycin for 9 days?

Can I give Azycin 500 mg to a 13-year-old boy for respiratory infections for 9 days if the leaflet says that he should not use it for more than 3 days? This is the recommendation we received from an allergist/pulmonologist

As indicated in the Summary of Product Characteristics, Azycin is recommended for use in a 1.5 g regimen over 3 days (500 mg in a single daily dose). Alternatively, the same total dose (1500 mg) can also be administered for 5 days: 500 mg on the first day of treatment and 250 mg on the second to fifth day of treatment.
Based on the patient's health condition, knowledge, experience and scientific reports, the doctor may order a dosage of the drug other than the general recommendation (https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami). Scientific publications report that azithromycin can be used for longer if there are reasons for it. If you have doubts about the dosage, it is worth reporting them to the specialist who prescribed the drug.
