The use of Oxycort A ointment around the eyes requires caution. This ointment contains oxytetracycline and hydrocortisone acetate, which have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, but its use close to the eyes can be risky. Due to the possibility of side effects, such as increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma or cataracts, it is recommended to avoid application in these areas without consulting a doctor12. In addition, Oxycort A should not be used for rosacea due to the risk of exacerbation of symptoms.
