Can I use Duexon for cough?

Hello, I got a terrible cough, but I don't have asthma. And I read in the leaflet that duexon is a medicine for asthma. I am afraid that I will harm myself.

Duexon is a preparation containing two active substances: salmeterol and fluticasone. Salmeterol is a substance that causes bronchodilation, fluticasone has an anti-inflammatory effect within the lungs.
Probably the doctor prescribing Duexon took into account the mechanism of action of the preparation, not the indications for use.
