My mother-in-law was given Forxiga due to poor kidney function. According to the indications, he is to take one tablet a day. However, she herself decided to take a pill every two days. Does such use make sense? Will it help at all, or maybe it will hurt more?

Forxiga (dapagliflozin) should be used as prescribed by your doctor, i.e. once a day, as its effect depends on the regular concentration of the drug in your blood. Taking it every two days can significantly reduce the effectiveness of treatment and affect the control of kidney disease or diabetes.
The recommended dose is one tablet per day, and changing the dosage every two days may lead to a decrease in efficacy and an increased risk of side effects, especially in patients with impaired kidney function. Talk to your mother-in-law and your doctor to explain the need for adherence, as irregular use of the medication can do more harm than good.
