My mother has been taking 5 mg of Forxiga (together with Metmorfin) for about 6 months. Previously, she was only on Metmorfin. For 2 months, severe urinary incontinence has appeared, especially at night, but also during the day. The last few weeks severe pain, bladder or abdominal cramps about an hour in the evening. Does this mean serious side effects. My mother is 77 years old. Thank you

Dapagliflozin (the active ingredient in Forxiga) can cause urinary incontinence and abdominal pain, but this is most often due to urinary tract infections or less frequent side effects such as ketoacidosis. It is worth consulting a doctor quickly to properly diagnose and treat the problem.
