Since Proton Labs preparations are not available in pharmacies, we are unable to provide information on their safety and efficacy. They are also dietary supplements, which means that they are not subject to such restrictions as medicines. As we write in our article: "Whether a given drug is safe and effective enough to be on the pharmacy shelf is assessed by the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products. The quality of the drug, i.e. whether it does not contain harmful contaminants or bacteria, is also supervised by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector. A company intending to introduce a dietary supplement to the market does not have to prove its quality, efficacy and safety in any way."
