Hello, my FA advises me to take Ryeqo due to my problems with uterine fibroids and heavy bleeding. How should the risk of thrombosis be assessed?
Thank you very much

Ryeqo may be associated with a risk of thrombosis. Factors that increase the risk of thrombosis include, m.in, age (especially over 35 years of age), overweight (body mass index > 30 kg/m2), major surgery or prolonged immobilization (e.g. leg in a cast), recent childbirth, smoking, heart problems, diabetes, certain diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammatory bowel diseases), cancer. For the full list of risk factors for thrombosis, see the package leaflet of Ryeqo. The risk of developing a blood clot increases with the number of these factors. The risk of thrombosis is also influenced by the occurrence of thrombosis among closely related people.
The assessment of the risk of thrombosis in your case should be made by a doctor based on your medical history. If you have any doubts about the safety of using the drug, I encourage you to consult your doctor again.
You can also take advantage of teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
