Can I take a stomach shield if I have inflammation and my doctor has prescribed Rybelsus?
Good morning, I have been suffering from gastritis for years and with the right diet I keep it under control. Now the diabetologist has prescribed me 3 mg rybelsus. Should I take the gastro protector? Also because I can't take it all my life

Rybelsus can cause disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and stomach function, such as: nausea, vomiting, gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, flatulence. The risk of side effects should be taken into account, especially if the problem is worsened before treatment is started. No change in absorption was observed when omeprazole (a gastric shielding drug) was used concomitantly. Any doubts related to the start of the treatment should be discussed with the doctor (it may be worth assessing the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, e.g. in a gastroscopic examination).
