The risks associated with the use of vaginal estrogens are lower than in the case of oral drugs with systemic effects. There is no clear assessment indicating the possibility of breast cancer development or recurrence in patients with a medical history of this disease.
The possibility of long-term side effects depends on the duration of treatment. Standard treatment lasts 12 days (this is the number of globules in the package). During this period, no accumulation of estriol in plasma or the general estrogenic effect of Gynoflor was observed.
