Can you take Fluoxetine while pregnant?
9.99 zł

Good evening.
I suffer from neurosis with depression. I haven't been taking any medication for 2 months because I'm pregnant. Previously, I was treated with zoloft with an exister, unfortunately because I got pregnant, I could not continue treatment with these drugs. Unfortunately, my health condition has deteriorated significantly and unfortunately it is difficult for me to function anymore. I wanted to ask if the drug fluoxetine polpharma would harm the baby if I started taking it? I remember that when I was feeding my daughter two years ago, she helped me a lot.

The decision to implement antidepressant treatment during pregnancy should be made by a doctor (moreover, the consultation should include both a psychiatrist and a gynecologist). It is assumed that SSRIs are the preparations of choice for pregnant patients, but it is not a risk-free treatment (possible development of pulmonary hypertension in the newborn or the occurrence of symptoms similar to the withdrawal syndrome after birth). The implementation of treatment should be preceded by tests.

In case of any doubts, I encourage you to use the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab:
