With the age of a man, there is a gradual decrease in the ability to fertilize - the number and motility of sperm decreases, and the number of sperm cells with an abnormal structure increases.
The preejaculate usually contains minimal or no sperm counts, and their presence can vary from man to man. With age, the likelihood of sperm in the preejaculate may also decrease, especially if the overall quality of sperm deteriorates. The chances of fertilization by pre-ejaculate alone are very low, but they do exist.
Lifestyle has an impact on fertility – factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet, lack of physical activity and chronic stress can negatively affect fertility and lead to decreased sperm count and decreased sperm motility. On the other hand, a healthy diet, regular physical activity, avoiding stimulants and getting enough sleep can help maintain normal sperm parameters. Additionally, avoiding exposure to high temperatures (e.g., hot baths, saunas) can help maintain sperm quality.
