Cachexan is an oral suspension indicated for the treatment of anorexia. In addition to the generally accepted use of Cachexan for cancer and AIDS, this drug can also be taken off-label https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami. I suspect that in your case the doctor decided to administer the drug off-label due to weight loss.
The active ingredient in Cachexan is megestrol, which, m.in, can lead to improved appetite and increased fat and muscle mass.
