Is Symfaxin used for memory problems despite not being depressed, or could this be a mistake?

Is symfaxin used for memory problems?
I have huge gaps in my memory, but I am absolutely not depressed. I got a prescription for this drug from a neurologist and only after the visit did I find out what it was used for. Is it a mistake? Is the drug applicable for memory problems?

Symfaxin (venlafaxine) is a medication used primarily to treat depression and anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder and social phobias. There is no indication for using this drug for memory problems, suggesting that its use in this case may be inappropriate, especially if you are not experiencing symptoms of depression.

It is worth consulting your doctor to discuss your memory problems and why you were prescribed this medication.
