Zoloft (sertraline) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. The most common side effects include: nausea, diarrhea, sleep disorders, weight changes and decreased libido.
Contraindications include sensitization to sertraline and concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which can lead to serious interactions such as serotonin syndrome.
Zoloft can be taken at any time of the day, including in the evening, at 6:30 p.m.
