The test for detecting tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) can detect Pramolan (opipramol), although it is not a classic tricyclic antidepressant. Opipramol belongs to a group of tricyclic drugs with a chemical structure similar to TCA, but its mechanism of action is slightly different - it has low anticholinergic activity and does not inhibit serotonin reuptake or
Norepinephrine. However, due to its similar chemical structure to TCA, opipramol may be detected in some tests (this will depend on the accuracy and sensitivity of the test).
