For 4 months I have been taking Dulexine 30 in the evening one tablet. My doctor advised me to stop taking this drug, can I stop taking the drug overnight or reduce the dose in some way? Unfortunately, contact with the doctor is very difficult and I cannot get an answer.

Information contained in the summary of product characteristics:
"Abrupt discontinuation of the medicinal product should be avoided. During duloxetine discontinuation, the dose should be gradually reduced over a period of at least 1 to 2 weeks to reduce the risk of withdrawal symptoms. If a patient develops intolerable symptoms after dose reduction or during duloxetine discontinuation, resumption of the previous dose may be considered, followed by a further gradual but slower dose reduction."
30 mg is the lowest dose of Duloxetine available, so it is worth discussing with your doctor how to stop taking the drug (e.g. taking a capsule every other day, etc.). Probably, discontinuing even the smallest dose of the drug overnight will cause side effects. Usually, the symptoms associated with antidepressant withdrawal persist for about 2 weeks and gradually subside. In the case of severe withdrawal symptoms, it may be necessary to use supportive medication (consultation with a psychiatrist required).
