As stated in the SmPC, the recommended starting dose of methotrexate is 7.5 mg once a week, administered subcutaneously. Depending on the severity of the disease and individual tolerability, the initial dose may be gradually increased by 2.5 mg per week. In general, no more than 25 mg per week should be used. If you have any doubts about the dosage of the drug prescribed by your doctor - I encourage you to contact a specialist, he or she will be able to explain his decision to you or possibly modify the dosage of the preparation.
