Clonazepam, as a long-acting benzodiazepame, can cause withdrawal symptoms even after about 5-10 days after discontinuation of treatment. The risk of withdrawal syndrome is higher in patients who take the drug at high doses for a long time.
Withdrawal from benzodiazepines should be gradual, under medical supervision, to minimise the risk of severe withdrawal symptoms.
