Clindacne (clindamycin) is a topical antibiotic used to treat acne. The use of medication during pregnancy should always be carefully considered and consulted with a doctor, as some medications can affect the developing fetus.
Clindamycin, when applied topically, is generally considered safe in pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters. Animal studies have shown no harmful effects on the foetus, and the available data in humans also suggest that the risk is low.
Despite the relative safety, any decision to use medication during pregnancy should be made after consulting a doctor. If such an incident has occurred and your doctor has prescribed you a gel - use it as prescribed.
